On July 27, Ningbo Lygend Resources & Technology Co., Ltd. organized an activity themed “Mangroves for Life” on Obi Island in Indonesia in celebration of International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem together with local villagers to raise attention to and awareness of mangrove ecosystem conservation.
Mangrove forests are one of the most productive types of ecosystems in the world and play a crucial role in maintaining coastal biodiversity. UNESCO has designated July 26 of every year as International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem.
Due to Indonesia’s vast coastlines, mangrove conservation is of particular importance. During the activity, nearly one hundred people, including local government officials and community residents, participated in tree planting, with everyone receiving a mangrove seedling for planting in a designated area. All participants discussed the importance of mangrove conservation for the ecological environment.
